Malaysia Airlines flight MH192 has landed safely in KL after a scare with its landing gear. The flight which was bound for Bangalore landed safely at KLIA Kuala Lumpur International Airport early on Monday after turning back when its landing gear malfunctioned. The carrier announced via Twitter
“Malaysia Airlines flight MH192 that made an air turn back towards KLIA has landed safely at 1:56am,”
In a statement issued by MAS, it was said the turn back was required as one of the tires on the right hand landing gear had burst during take off. The Captain was alerted by KL Air Traffic Control that tyre debris had been found on the runway.
The plane circled for about 3 hours off the state of Selangor, most probably in an attempt to burn off as much fuel as possible before the emergency landing. The Airport Fire and Rescue Services were deployed as soon as the pilot was instructed to turn by by Air Traffic Control.
Malaysia Police are currently looking into the possibility of sabotage on the latest Malaysian Airlines plane to have problems. This is also at the request of Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.
