On 6 June 2012, the planet Venus will move across the face of the Sun if viewed from the Earth.  In Malaysia, this phenomena will starts occur since the Sun rises and ends at 12:50 pm.  The last Venus Transit was in 8 June 2004. If you miss this scene, you will need to wait the next 105 years!

Transit of Venus description :

A transit of Venus across the Sun takes place when the Planet Venus passes directly between the Sun and the Earth, becoming visible against the solar disk.  During the transit, Venus can be seen from the Earth as a small black disk moving across the face of the Sun using solar filter.

In Malaysia, the best time is on 6 am of 6 June 2012 in conjunction of the sunrise. But concerning the location problem, in Penang have to wait until 7 am to see the sunrise. On that day, the best time to witness the transit is on 9 o’clock 29 minutes 28 sec. It’s advised that we should not directly use our eye to see sun.

There are three safe ways to view the transit.
1. “Eclipse” glasses
